Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking or using the services of Umbra Photography, operated by Benjamin Braddick (sole trader). By making a booking or enquiry, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

Umbra Photography provides professional photography services including, but not limited to, portrait photography, event photography, headshots, and corporate photography across Cardiff and South Wales. All services are agreed between Umbra Photography and the client prior to the shoot.

2. Bookings and Deposits

A booking is confirmed once a written agreement (including email confirmation) has been made between both parties. Where a deposit is required, it must be received before the booking is considered confirmed. Deposit amounts and payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking.

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that plans can change. The following applies to cancellations and rescheduling:

  • Cancellations made with more than 14 days' notice: deposit may be applied to a rescheduled booking

  • Cancellations made with less than 14 days' notice: the deposit may be retained to cover preparation costs and lost bookings

  • Cancellations by Umbra Photography: in the unlikely event we need to cancel, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer a full refund or alternative date

Specific cancellation terms may be outlined in individual client agreements and will take precedence over the above.

4. Copyright and Image Ownership

All photographs and images produced by Umbra Photography remain the intellectual property and copyright of Benjamin Braddick, unless otherwise agreed in writing. This includes all images delivered to clients.

  • Clients are granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the images for personal use unless a commercial licence is separately agreed

  • Images may not be sold, licensed to third parties, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Umbra Photography

  • Umbra Photography retains the right to use images for portfolio purposes, website display, and social media, unless the client requests otherwise in writing prior to the shoot

  • Cropping, filtering, or altering delivered images without permission is not permitted

5. Image Use and Model Consent

Where Umbra Photography intends to use images featuring identifiable individuals for portfolio or promotional purposes, written consent will be sought. Clients and subjects may request that their images are not used for promotional purposes, and this request will be respected.

6. Delivery of Images

Edited images will be delivered within a timeframe agreed at the time of booking. Umbra Photography will make every effort to meet agreed deadlines. The number of images delivered will be outlined in the booking agreement. We do not deliver unedited or RAW files unless specifically agreed.

7. Liability

Umbra Photography will take every reasonable care to deliver high-quality results. However:

  • We cannot be held liable for events outside our control, including but not limited to adverse weather, venue restrictions, or equipment failure

  • In the unlikely event of technical failure resulting in loss of images, our liability is limited to a refund of fees paid

  • We are not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our services or delivered images

8. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information about the shoot requirements

  • Ensure all necessary permissions are obtained for locations not managed by Umbra Photography

  • Ensure all individuals to be photographed are aware of and consent to being photographed


9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
